Archdiocese of Indianapolis Grading Scale

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis believes that Catholic education is about the process of continual learning and development of the whole child. The report card is one piece of data intended to communicate a student's current performance on the curriculum in order to generate discussion, to provide information, and to foster growth.

The following grading scale is used at St. Jude Catholic School in accordance with Archdiocese of Indianapolis guidelines.

Kindergarten - 3rd Grade & Special Area Classes: 

Archdiocesan Four Point Achievement Scale

Levels of Achievement are provided to help you better understand how your child is performing on a specific standard.

• E - Exemplary: The student consistently demonstrates a thorough understanding of the concept/skill and applies it independently.
• M - Mastery: The student demonstrates a solid understanding of the concept/skill.
• P - Partial Mastery: The student demonstrates a partial or developing understanding of the concept/skill.
• N - Non-Mastery: The student does not yet demonstrate understanding of the concept/skill.
