St. Jude Scrip and Profit Sharing Program

What is SCRIP?

SCRIP is a fundraising program benefiting St. Jude School, Parish, and families. St. Jude purchases gift cards at a discount and, in turn, sells these gift cards at face value.  Watch this short video for an introduction to Scrip fundraising.

How does this program benefit St. Jude School and Parish?

A portion of the rebates on all gift card purchases can be donated to the school or parish. In 2014 the SCRIP program raised over $10,000 for St Jude School PTO, St Jude School Tuition Assistance Program and the St Jude Parish Social Justice and Outreach Program.

How do participating families benefit?

Participants may retain a portion of the rebates from their purchases in the form of a tuition credit, 8th grade fundraising credit, or cash back.  Rebates are distributed twice annually in January and April.  The portion of the rebate that is donated to the school or parish may be tax deductible.

How much money can a participating family raise?

By simply planning ahead on everyday purchases like groceries, gas, restaurants, clothes, household goods, and more, the average family can raise over $10 a week through the Scrip program.  Some Scrip cards, like Speedway, Target and Meijer, are reloadable through the Scrip web site.

How can I purchase SCRIP?

SCRIP can be purchased in 4 easy ways:

  1. Plastic gift cards can be ordered online at or by filling out a SCRIP order form and leaving the form along with your payment in the school office, parish center or offering basket during mass.

What plastic gift cards are available for purchase?

Gas, groceries, hardware supplies, restaurant meals, office supplies, household goods, clothing, books, and electronics can all be purchased with SCRIP.  The St. Jude SCRIP program stocks plastic gift cards for it's most popular brands including Speedway, Meijer, Target, Walmart, Kohl's, Panera, Starbucks, Subway and more.  Additionally, we can special order plastic gift cards on a weekly basis from more than 700 participating retailers. Special orders placed by Monday morning are usually available the following Wednesday afternoon.  The full list of retailers can be seen online at  A more concise list can be seen on the St. Jude SCRIP Order form.

Can I use scrip to pay department store charge account balances?

Only Kohl’s allows you to pay charge account balances with scrip.  The other retailers like Macy's do not.  This adds a bit more convenience to using scrip for your Kohl’s purchases.  You can charge merchandise to your Kohl’s account and then order scrip certificates to pay the balance. There is less need to plan when you can use scrip this way because you know how much you’ve spent.  You do have to pay your Kohl's charge account balance at the Kohl's store when you use a scrip card.

Can any of the SCRIP gift cards be used at other businesses?
