Catholic Family Challenge

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

  -Proverbs 22:6

In that vein, we have decided to introduce the Catholic Family Challenge to our St. Jude School families.  In order to bring families closer together and deepen their Faith, we are challenging families to complete 5 of the activities from the list below over the course of 1 year.  Families who complete this challenge will receive special recognition as well as memento for your family to commemorate this achievement.  This memento will be a cross constructed and decorated by students at St. Jude Catholic School.

We are in a changing society.  More and more we find that our religious beliefs are at odds with societal pressures.  We have more and more people who were raised Catholic, but are no longer “practicing” the Faith.  As Catholic Parents and Catholic School Educators, it is our responsibility to raise our children to be strong Catholics.  This does not just mean teaching them the Faith, but developing it...forming it.  It is what the vocation of parenthood demands of us.  Parents are called to be the primary spiritual influence in the lives of their children.    The best way to help students feel connected to their Faith is to live it daily and to see it modelled by those closest to them, those with the most influence--their families.

Families interested in participating should complete the simple form below. From the date that this form is completed, the family will have 1 year to complete at least 5 of the tasks below.  Families will then document the completion of each task using the St. Jude School App.  The app contains a “Catholic Family Challenge” feature which allows for you to submit pictures documenting your family's participation and completion of each challenge.   Simply click on the App feature and take a picture of your family participating in or completing one of the tasks.  An email will then be composed where you can add your family’s name, the task being documented by the picture as well as the date.  Be sure to include your family’s last name in the Subject line when prompted.  These can be submitted throughout the year as the tasks are completed.

Choose any 5 (or more) of the tasks below to be completed by your family over the course of 1 year:
