- Who do I call if my child is sick and cannot attend school?
Call the attendance line, 784-6828 ext 1, before 9:00am and leave the child’s name, grade and explain the ailment.

- Do I need to send a note to school when my child returns to school even though I have already called the attendance line?
Yes. A note needs to be sent to the child’s homeroom teacher. The note should explain the reason for the absence, be dated and signed.

- How do I arrange to pick up my child’s homework?
You may leave a request for homework to be sent to the office or home with another student on the attendance line when you call the child in sick, on the homeroom teacher’s voicemail, or call the school office. Homework is not usually available for pickup until 2:45pm.

- How many days does my child have to make up his/her homework?
As a general rule, a child is given as many days as he/she was absent to complete the homework. Please check with the child’s teacher for special circumstances.

- What is the procedure if my child is late for school?
The child needs to check into the school office and get a tardy slip.

- What is the procedure for picking up a child in the middle of the school day?
- If you know in advance, please send a note to the homeroom teacher explaining why the child is leaving and what time he/she will be picked up. Otherwise, call the school office as soon as you are aware of the time and the office staff will make every effort to get the message to your child.
- The person picking the child up must sign him/her out in the school office
- When the child returns, he/she must sign back in at the school office.

- What are the drop off and pick-up times?
Students may be dropped off starting at 7:30. Dismissal is at 2:55 for car riders, 3:05 for walkers, and 3:15 for the after school program.

- Where will I find out about cancellations and delays?
Please tune to the following radio and television stations for information about school closures: 1070 AM WIBC, WRTV 6, WISH TV 8, FOX 59, WRTV 13, WB 4.

- Where is St. Jude located?
St. Jude is located at 5375 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, IN 46227. We are next to Roncalli High School.

- What is the approximate student-to-teacher ratio?
No classroom has more than thirty students. However, St. Jude also has four special area teachers and various classroom aides.

- Can family member visit the classrooms?
Yes, upon prior arrangement with the teacher, family members may visit the classrooms.

- When are report cards issued?
Report cards are issued four times throughout the year. October
16, January 12, March 21, and May 25. Progress reports are
issued as well on September 13, November 21, February 12, and
May 2.

- What happens if I forget to send lunch money?
If a student forgets lunch money, they will be asked to call home. However, if this does not work, charging is available, but not appreciated.

- When are the parent-teacher conferences?
The parent-student-teacher conferences are on October 17 and October
18. However, more conferences may be available by contacting
the student’s teacher.
